The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Aruba and Romania.
Aruba | Romania | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | A, B, F | C, F |
Voltage | 127V | 220V, 230V |
Frequency of electrical current | 60Hz | 50Hz |
In Aruba there's more than one plug type in use.
What type of plug does your appliance have?
In Romania there's more than one socket type in use. You may require more than one adaptor.
Socket Type A
(Aruba) to Plug Type C

Romania also uses Socket Type F, which is used in Aruba. If using an appliance that has a Type F Plug in the Type F Sockets of Romania, you will not need an adaptor.
Check if your appliance is compatible with the voltages used in Romania
The voltages, 220V and 230V, are used in parts of Romania but not in Aruba.
Some appliances are compatible with multiple voltages. To find out if your appliance is one of them, check the appliance label and/or instruction booklet. An example appliance label is below.

Is your appliance compatible with the voltages used in Romania (220V and 230V)?
If your appliance is not compatible with multiple voltages, and you wish to use it in parts of Romania where these voltages are present, you will need a transformer to adjust the voltage input when using your appliance in Romania.
The frequency of electrical current found in Aruba (60Hz) differs to that found in Romania (50Hz).
Most equipment is not affected by differences in frequencies. Some exceptions are:
