The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Dominican Republic and Saudi Arabia.
Dominican Republic | Saudi Arabia | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | A | A, B, F, G |
Voltage | 110V | 127V, 220V |
Frequency of electrical current | 60Hz | 60Hz |
Dominican Republic uses Plug Type A.
In Saudi Arabia there's more than one socket type in use. You may require more than one adaptor.
Socket Type A
(Dominican Republic) to Plug Type B
(Saudi Arabia)
Socket Type A
(Dominican Republic) to Plug Type F
(Saudi Arabia)
Socket Type A
(Dominican Republic) to Plug Type G
(Saudi Arabia)
Saudi Arabia also uses Socket Type A, which is used in Dominican Republic. If using an appliance that has a Type A Plug in the Type A Sockets of Saudi Arabia, you will not need an adaptor.
Check if your appliance is compatible with the voltages used in Saudi Arabia
The voltages, 127V and 220V, are used in parts of Saudi Arabia but not in Dominican Republic.
Some appliances are compatible with multiple voltages. To find out if your appliance is one of them, check the appliance label and/or instruction booklet. An example appliance label is below.

Is your appliance compatible with the voltages used in Saudi Arabia (127V and 220V)?
If your appliance is not compatible with multiple voltages, and you wish to use it in parts of Saudi Arabia where these voltages are present, you will need a transformer to adjust the voltage input when using your appliance in Saudi Arabia.
The frequency found in Dominican Republic and Saudi Arabia is exactly the same (60Hz). Timing devices and appliances that use motors will function as expected under this frequency.
