The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Libya and Nigeria.
Libya | Nigeria | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | D | D, G |
Voltage | 127V | 240V |
Frequency of electrical current | 50Hz | 50Hz |
Libya uses Plug Type D.
In Nigeria there's more than one socket type in use.
You will need this adaptor:
Socket Type
(Libya) to Plug Type G
(Nigeria)
Nigeria also uses Socket Type D, which is used in Libya. If using an appliance that has a Type D Plug in the Type D Sockets of Nigeria, you will not need an adaptor.
The voltages found in Libya and Nigeria are significantly different.
Some appliances are compatible with multiple voltages. To find out if your appliance is one of them, check the appliance label and/or instruction booklet.

Is your appliance compatible with the voltage used in Nigeria (240V)?
If your appliance is not compatible with multiple voltages, you will need a transformer to adjust the voltage input when using your appliance in Nigeria.
The frequency found in Libya and Nigeria is exactly the same (50Hz). Timing devices and appliances that use motors will function as expected under this frequency.
