The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Mexico and Canada.
Mexico | Canada | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | A | A, B |
Voltage | 127V | 120V |
Frequency of electrical current | 60Hz | 60Hz |
Mexico uses Plug Type A.
In Canada there's more than one socket type in use.
You will need this adaptor:
Socket Type
(Mexico) to Plug Type B
(Canada)
Canada also uses Socket Type A, which is used in Mexico. If using an appliance that has a Type A Plug in the Type A Sockets of Canada, you will not need an adaptor.
The voltages found in Mexico (127V) and Canada (120V) are not exactly the same, but the difference is tolerable, so you should not need a transformer.
The frequency found in Mexico and Canada is exactly the same (60Hz). Timing devices and appliances that use motors will function as expected under this frequency.
