The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Mexico and Panama.
Mexico | Panama | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | A | A, B |
Voltage | 127V | 110V |
Frequency of electrical current | 60Hz | 60Hz |
Mexico uses Plug Type A.
In Panama there's more than one socket type in use.
You will need this adaptor:
Socket Type
(Mexico) to Plug Type B
(Panama)
Panama also uses Socket Type A, which is used in Mexico. If using an appliance that has a Type A Plug in the Type A Sockets of Panama, you will not need an adaptor.
The voltages found in Mexico and Panama are significantly different.
Some appliances are compatible with multiple voltages. To find out if your appliance is one of them, check the appliance label and/or instruction booklet.

Is your appliance compatible with the voltage used in Panama (110V)?
If your appliance is not compatible with multiple voltages, you will need a transformer to adjust the voltage input when using your appliance in Panama.
The frequency found in Mexico and Panama is exactly the same (60Hz). Timing devices and appliances that use motors will function as expected under this frequency.
