The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both St. Kitts and Nevis and Gibraltar.
St. Kitts and Nevis | Gibraltar | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | D, G | C, G |
Voltage | 230V | 240V |
Frequency of electrical current | 60Hz | 50Hz |
In St. Kitts and Nevis there's more than one plug type in use.
What type of plug does your appliance have?
In Gibraltar there's more than one socket type in use. You may require more than one adaptor.
Socket Type D
(St. Kitts and Nevis) to Plug Type C
(Gibraltar)
Socket Type D
(St. Kitts and Nevis) to Plug Type G
(Gibraltar)
In Gibraltar there's more than one socket type in use.
You will need this adaptor:
Socket Type D
(St. Kitts and Nevis) to Plug Type C
(Gibraltar)
Gibraltar also uses Socket Type G, which is used in St. Kitts and Nevis. If using an appliance that has a Type G Plug in the Type G Sockets of Gibraltar, you will not need an adaptor.
The voltages found in St. Kitts and Nevis (230V) and Gibraltar (240V) are not exactly the same, but the difference is tolerable, so you should not need a transformer.
The frequency of electrical current found in St. Kitts and Nevis (60Hz) differs to that found in Gibraltar (50Hz).
Most equipment is not affected by differences in frequencies. Some exceptions are:
