The table below summarises the plug types, voltage and frequency of electrical current in both Vietnam and Egypt.
Vietnam | Egypt | |
---|---|---|
Plug Types | A, C, G | C |
Voltage | 127V, 220V | 220V |
Frequency of electrical current | 50Hz | 50Hz |
In Vietnam there's more than one plug type in use.
What type of plug does your appliance have?
You will need this adaptor:
Socket Type
(Vietnam) to Plug Type C
(Egypt)
No adaptor needed
Egypt uses Socket Type C, which is the same as the plug type of your appliances from Vietnam. You will not need an adaptor.

Check if your appliance is compatible with the voltage used in Egypt
The voltage, 127V, which is present in Vietnam, is significantly different to what's used in Egypt.
Some appliances are compatible with multiple voltages. To find out if your appliance is one of them, check the appliance label and/or instruction booklet. An example appliance label is below.

Is your appliance compatible with the voltage used in Egypt (220V)?
If your appliance is not compatible with multiple voltages, you will need a transformer to adjust the voltage input when using your appliance in Egypt.
The frequency found in Vietnam and Egypt is exactly the same (50Hz). Timing devices and appliances that use motors will function as expected under this frequency.
